Financial Oversight

How We Handle Money

As a young organization, we keep our financial controls simple and documented, so that every dollar given for a girl can be traced to her program.

  • An annual budget is prepared and approved by the board before each program year.
  • Income and expenses are recorded in a bookkeeping system, with bank reconciliation each month.
  • Spending outside the approved budget requires board approval.
  • Any board member with a conflict of interest declares it and withdraws from the related decision.
  • Program budgets and financial statements are shared with funders and partners on request.

Reporting commitments

We publish an annual impact report with measured outcomes, report program data to our funders, and review our safeguarding and financial policies every year with the board.
